If you elect to "have your engine changed" at the Chevy dealer, it will usually cost you 2-3 times more than anywhere esle, other than a dealership. If you already have the new/used engine and simply want to know the cost, well it's based on man-hours worked; it's usually $100 per hour (give or take), at the dealer. You will spend at least $2,000 just for labor. Most independent shops will get you a used or barely used engine and install it for that price.
