The Chevrolet Tahoe, also known as the General Motors Yukon, was introduced by General Motors in the auto market in 1992. From that time until now, the full size sport utility vehicle has been a popular choice among auto buyers in the United States. The popularity of the Tahoe however is not only limited to the United States. Recently, the United Arab Emirates’ leading destination management company announced that they will be adding more Chevrolet Tahoe units in their fleet.

Arabian Adventures, a destination management company in the UAE ordered 49 units of the Chevrolet Tahoe. The Liberty Automobiles Company, Chevrolet dealers in the Sharjah and the Northern Emirates will be delivering the needed Tahoes to Arabian Adventures by March next year.

This announcement of course is welcome news for General Motors in the region. “Since its launch last year, the new generation Chevrolet Tahoe has dominated the market in terms of raw power, value, quality and comfort,” said Muneer Alhasan, the Regional Fleet Manager at General Motors Middle East Operations. “Designed to deliver a sharper driving experience, segment-leading fuel economy, increased interior refinement and improved quietness, the Tahoe is truly a leader in its category.”

Using General Motors’ full-size SUV platform, the new Tahoe is designed to give consumers what they are looking or in large cars - cargo capacity. This is achieved by the Tahoe and at the same time it also provides a respectable fuel economy for its size.

The off-road driving capability of the Chevrolet Tahoe is one of the reasons why Arabian Adventures is looking for more of these auto models. “Chevrolet Tahoe is the SUV of choice for serious off-roaders,” said Peter Payet, the General Manager, Arabian Adventures. “With its high levels of safety, comfort, reliability and superior ride and handling, the Tahoe is by far the ultimate dune driving vehicle.”

According to Payet, the company has made the decision of purchasing more Tahoes as the result of their tests shows that the Tahoe is superior to other full size SUVs. “We conducted extensive product testing in the segment and the Chevrolet Tahoe constantly outperformed all the other competitors and contenders,” said Payet. “Our decision to use the Tahoe as our fleet's vehicle of choice was an easy one to make.”

Ten units of the 2007 Chevy Tahoe have already been delivered to Arabian Adventures. During the handover ceremony Liberty Automobiles Company’s managing director, Tayeb Al Rais, has this to say: “This year marks nearly five years of a successful partnership with Arabian Adventures and as always, we are happy to be able to extend our support every step of the way.”

The Chevrolet Tahoe step plate-equipped SUVs’ design makes it suitable for due driving. Its drive configuration makes sure that power is transmitted to all the wheels of the vehicle. Aside from the performance of the vehicle, it has also become popular among auto buyers and drivers because of its spacious interior.
