Which truck is the best choice for me?

I am looking to buy a new truck or used in the next two months (preferably used) and I was wondering what truck from the Chevrolet Silverado or F150 crew cab is the best choice? 2004 and older. What is the most reliable and will last me the longest? Which has better gas consumption, which is cheaper to replace parts? Someone with personal experience with these trucks would be well. I also want to spend under 12k. Thank you =]

In fact, you could get a 2006-2007 Nissan Titan for less than $ 12,000. It can tow over 9000 pounds and average about 17 mpg (which is not too bad). With Titan, you also do not need to worry about replacing parts - it's an American thing. Nissan parts are not exactly rare, should result from the fact that you do need to fix something.
