I am looking at buying a 2003 Chevrolet S10 ls...?

and was wondering if there good trucks??

Not really. Here's what consumer reports says about them.

The compact S-10 has inferior brakes, and trucklike handling. But the 4.3-liter V6 is strong. Crash-test results are subpar. Extended-cab versions have a driver's-side third door in back, which is useful for loading cargo. A four-door crew-cab model arrived in 2001.

They were discontinued in favor of the crappy Colorado in '04. Good luck, though. At least they're better than Rangers.
