brake lights 1997 Chevrolet Pickup. Good bulbs. Good relay. Good fuse. Is there a hidden link or fuse?

The brake lights have stopped working on my 1997 Chevrolet pickup ext cab 4x4. They quit when I was pulling a trailer and grounded on the hot-headed to the trailer. Race walk, turn and 3rd brake light all work. Is there a hidden fuse or fusible link I do not see? I have replaced the fuse in the dash and checked over. 20-Jun-07

My 97 did exactly the sme thing and it was 20 or 30 large fuse under the hood.
